BBID Non Domestic Water Use Rates and Conditions

The BBID Bylaw #6 includes a Water Use Regulations section. In this section there is a requirement for BBID members to request permission from the BBID Board of Trustee for water use deemed to be non domestic. Non domestic use may include filling of swimming pools, reservoirs, use of water to power equipment or any large scale personal or commercial water use (i.e. orchards, fields or greenhouses). If the BBID Board determines the use to be of such that it has the potential to impact the overall water system, special rates may apply. For clarification, the following is a definition of Domestic vs Non Domestic Water Use:

  • Domestic Water Use - means the use of water for household purposes by the occupants of, subject to the regulations, one or more private dwellings, located on a single parcel, including, without limitation, the following uses:
    1. drinking water, food preparation and sanitation;
    2. fire prevention;
    3. providing water to animals or poultry kept
      1. for household use, or
      2. as pets;
    4. irrigation of a personal garden or yard that is adjoining the dwelling
  • Non-Domestic Water Use is use of water for anything other than that which is covered by the Domestic Water Use definition
